Romain Grosjean quickest in morning session at Paul Ricard


The  first  three-day  test  session  of  the  GP2  Series  2009  season  resumed  this  morning  at  Paul Ricard. As planned, the thirteen teams mainly concentrate today on aero mapping and high speed configuration. On a sunny 2A track configuration that includes a long straight, sophomore Romain Grosjean  set  the  pace  in  a  1:09.015  at  the  wheel  of  his  Barwa  Campos  car.  He  was  closely followed by Spaniard rookie Dani Clos at Fat Burner Racing Engineering and yesterday’s quickest racer Javier Villa at Super Nova.

Behind  the  Top  3,  ART’s  Pastor  Maldonado  led  DPR’s  Michael  Herck.  Veteran  Lucas  di  Grassi finished sixth on the second Fat Burner Racing Engineering car, ahead of Alvaro Parente at Ocean Racing  Technology,  Andreas  Zuber  at  FMS  and  rookie  Nico  Hülkenberg  on  the  second  ART machine. Belgian Jérôme d’Ambrosio at Dams completed the Top 10.

Twenty-one drivers finished within the same second.
