Drop Off Charges
Alamo vehicles can be driven into all states in the United States, but must be returned to the location from which they were rented or a drop-off charge may apply.  For a coast to coast journey this charge would be $500 + tax.  However, one way rentals are offered free of charge within Florida & California for UK customers when pre-booked on alamo.co.uk.

Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Direct Road in Europe
Building on the success of its Direct Road pre-registration programme for rentals in the US and Canada, Alamo Rent A Car now offers Direct Road online and has extended the programme for rentals in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. 

To use Direct Road, customers simply need to visit the dedicated website to complete the online registration form providing the rental details and their personal information, including driving licence details. 

The information then goes directly into Alamo’s reservation system, eliminating the need for the rental agent to compile these details at the desk when the customers pick up the car at their destination. 

GPS

GPS units are available for hire from many Alamo locations across the globe, making route planning stress-free. 

In North America the Garmin StreetPilot c330 is available to Alamo customers for $10.99 per day and can be added to the all inclusive rate. The easy to use, personal navigation device will ensure Alamo customers travelling to the U.S. and Canada can effortlessly find their way around. Features include: pre-loaded maps, multiple text, voice languages, 3D map presentation and dual speakers.

Alamo provides fully inclusive GPS rates for customers booking online at alamo.co.uk. The GPS unit is prepaid at time of booking; it will then be reserved for pick up when the customer arrives at their destination.

GPS equipment is also widely available across Europe. In the UK units can be hired at all major UK airport and can be pre-booked but paid locally at 5 key locations.

All of Alamo’s product information and booking services are available on alamo.co.uk - a global website designed specifically for UK travellers. Customers can log on and book vehicles in Alamo locations worldwide with the assurance that all rates are fully inclusive and guaranteed.  

Reservations – Pre-pay or Pay Locally
Visual depictions of the fleet available, rates for the chosen destination and dates are provided up front and unprompted making it easy for customers to see what their options are.  Once a vehicle has been selected, customers can now see exactly what’s included in the rental rate plus the cost of any additional items they have selected, prior to confirmation.  Most importantly, the cost for any items to be paid locally is now shown both in local currency and with an approximate GBP conversion.

Once the customer has decided where and when they want to rent they have the option to pre-pay on line using a credit card or to pay locally.  Customers will also be able to take advantage of a range of discounts provided on pre-pay rentals.

British Airways Executive Club Partner

British Airways Executive Club members can collect BA miles on every rental booked on alamo.co.uk. Valid for bookings at any Alamo location in the UK or across its worldwide network, on any type of car or any rental length reserved. Members simply present their Executive Club card at the rental location when they pick up their car and collect up to 750 BA Miles per rental.

The hot deals page of the website provides constant updates on the latest discounts. Regular travellers can also subscribe to the email notification service, to receive messages about all the best deals.

All Inclusive Package
Alamo Rent A Car operates a wholly transparent approach to its charges for customers throughout the world and in many leisure destinations, and provides all inclusive rates so that the customer has the peace of mind that they are covered for all their basic insurance needs. 

All-inclusive car rental packages cover the following:

• Collision Damage Waiver. This is included in the majority of rate packages. CDW protects the renter from financial responsibility if the car is damaged or stolen.
• Theft protection
• Airport fee and surcharges
• All Taxes
• Unlimited mileage
• Roadside assistance
• In North America, up to $1 million third party liability coverage is included in Fully Inclusive and Alamo Gold rates
• For Europe and the Rest of the World third party liability is included in all rates as required by law
• Personal accident and effects coverage is available to purchase at time of rental in selected countries

Consumers should check for additional charges where items are not mandatory, such as inclusion of additional drivers, child car seats and winter tyres.
